Artist Statement

Through the forms of painting, drawing and animation I seek to give the mundane new emphasis, compelling my audience to consider the value of the ordinary in their own lives. I choose subjects from everyday life; people, animals, objects and everyday moments. I have an emotional connection with and a lived experience with my subjects. My work is nostalgic, influencing audience to consider moments from their own past and questioning the prejudice of their own memory. Largely autobiographical, I seek to transform my story into a shared narrative through the conversation my art has with audiences who bring an array of experiences, personalities and opinions.
